What causes a double chin?
The area under a person's chin is the submental area, and the condition called “submental fullness” is a double chin.
Double chins usually occur when people are overweight, but a patient can also develop a double chin while at a normal weight.
A person’s submental fat, or double chin, is partially a result of their genetic makeup and partly a normal consequence of aging. As humans age, their skin loses its elasticity, becoming loose and sagging.
How can lasers help get rid of my double chin?
Formerly, if a patient had loose skin hanging from their chin, they had to undergo plastic surgery to correct it. That meant general anesthesia, stitches, and bandages. However, modern laser technology has revolutionized the domain of plastic surgery.
